MilkWorks IR+ - Targeted Lactation Support for Insulin Resistance†
Did you know that over 88 million Americans - more than 1 in 3 adults - have insulin resistance, even if they haven’t been diagnosed with diabetes?¹
Insulin resistance is especially common in postpartum women and can silently affect your ability to make and maintain a full milk supply.
Why Insulin Resistance Impacts Lactation
Lactation is driven by a delicate hormonal system. Two key hormones, prolactin and oxytocin, are essential for making and releasing milk. But these hormones don’t act in isolation. They’re influenced by metabolic health, especially insulin sensitivity.
When your cells become resistant to insulin:
-
Prolactin may not rise as expected after birth
-
Oxytocin release may be blunted, reducing milk ejection
-
Blood sugar fluctuations can increase postpartum fatigue, stress, and inflammation, all of which impact milk supply
Women with PCOS, prediabetes, or postpartum metabolic shifts are especially vulnerable.
What Makes MilkWorks IR+ Different
MilkWorks IR+ is a unique, science-informed formula designed to support your body’s natural lactation hormones by targeting one of the most overlooked root causes: insulin resistance.†
Each 5-capsule daily serving contains:
• Myo-Inositol (2,000 mg) – Clinically studied to support insulin signaling and prolactin function.†
• D-Chiro Inositol (50 mg) – Supports hormone balance and glucose metabolism, especially in PCOS.†
• Organic Moringa Leaf (6000 mg extract) – Traditionally used to support postpartum prolactin levels.†
• Beta Glucans (400 mg) – Naturally nourishes the microbiome and supports immune and endocrine balance.†
Suggested Use: Take 2 capsules in the morning and 3 in the afternoon (total 5 daily), or as directed by your healthcare provider.
Important: If you’re experiencing low milk supply, consult with a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to evaluate feeding mechanics and baby’s milk transfer. Supplements work best when used as part of a comprehensive care plan.

Worked but Gave Baby Ance
Unfortunately, this gave our girl severe baby acne where she had none before. I saw an improvement in my milk supply the day that I started taking it, however. I took 3 at once two or three days in a row and the acne got worse over time. Once I discontinued the supplement the acne got better and is almost completely resolved now. I may try just taking one a day once it completely resolves.

Mind Blown
I am NOT a breastfeeding mother any longer, but I was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance. I have been taking this supplement for a little over 7 weeks now and have noticed an improvement in my afternoon fatigue (thanks a lot blood sugar crash), the scale has moved a bit easier with my normal routine, and I am no longer experiencing extreme tiredness after eating larger meals. Getting Myo-inositol alone for a 1 month supply can be quite expensive, love having this as an option instead!

Tolerated it well, but no improvement
**BUSINESS REPONSE: Hi Erin! Thank you for your feedback, we greatly appreciate it. We are sorry to hear that it did not provide the increase you were looking for, finding the perfect supplement can be tricky. You are doing an amazing job!** I tried this supplement at the recommendation of my LC as we worked to problem solve my decreasing supply. While I tolerated the supplement well and didn’t have any adverse effects, my supply dropped another 19% in two weeks of trying this. I discontinued use since it was at best not helping, and at worst hurting.

Unfortunately a no for me
**BUSINESS RESPONSE: Hi Cassidy! Thank you for taking the time to let us know your experience. In situations where ingredients are potentially causing adverse reactions it can be due to a sensitivity. We always recommend using supplements only when working alongside an IBCLC to ensure it is a good fit and something your supply would benefit from." I was so hopeful for this product, but unfortunately it did not work for me and my boy. I’m a “just enougher” or maybe ever so slightly an overproducer (I’m able to freeze about 4oz per week) and I was hoping this would up my production enough that I would be able to freeze a bit more. However, I did not notice any supply increase. Moreover, it caused increased gas in me and HORRIBLE gas in my 3 month old son. He went from sleeping 4 hour stretches to waking up after less than an hour and not being able to be set down in his bassinet. It took me awhile to pinpoint this as the culprit but I’m glad I was able to narrow it down.

This stuff works!!
I have always had problems producing milk. Yesterday I could barely express a few drops. My order came In the mail so I started taking them. Today I was able to express 2 oz! For my body I’m beyond thrilled with this. Each pump session I express more and more! This may have saved us, I highly recommend

So far so good!
I just started taking this a month ago and just started my second bottle. So far I’m loving the results and feel like my baby is more nourished and happy between feedings.

Works but pricey
I started taking these pills as prescribed and almost immediately saw results. The pills are horse pills to be taken 3x a day. It probably helped that I also increased my water intake by mixing coconut water and a hydration packet into half a gallon of water. That said, these pills are pricey so you have to balance is they're worth it to you.

Only thing that has helped
When I started my pump journey going back to work I struggled to get a let down without my baby. My lactation consult suggested this and I have seen such difference. It has been the only thing that has helped with my supply and continuing to have letdowns!

This is it!
Of course there are many possible reasons for low milk supply. I assumed mine was hormonal, specific to the return of my period. It doesn’t matter if my period returns at 2 months pp or 5 months pp, I always go from being an over producer to being an under producer. 5-7oz every 2-3hrs to 1-2 oz every 2-3hrs, when replacing a feed. I only pump while at work but can tell baby gets frustrated at the breast when at home. Calcium/Mag supplements seemed to help a tiny bit, but not much. This stuff works. Inositol helped me get pregnant with both my children so I learned a lot about it. After my son I started to wonder about its role in lactation and came across this product. I’m now back to over producing, not by much, but anything over baby’s intake is considered an over producer. My ONLY complaint is the price, I do wish it were a bit cheaper. However, there’s nothing else like it out there. The ingredients can be purchased separately but I can’t attest to their quality or effectiveness, so I will continue to purchase what I know works!
